Voy Travel is a travel company that aims to enhance the way people book and experience travel by leveraging Web3 technology. To provide travelers with more flexibility and value, Voy Travel has developed a unified loyalty point system, liquid staking, and tradable rewards, allowing users to maximize their travel benefits. Through the TravelFi platform, customers can convert scattered loyalty points into a single tokenized currency, stake assets to earn rewards, and redeem or trade points seamlessly.

Voy Travel aims to provide seamless and efficient customer service, ensuring that users have a smooth experience when booking travel services and managing their loyalty rewards. However, several challenges stood in the way of achieving this goal:

• Complexity in integrating blockchain with booking services:  Managing a blockchain-based loyalty system while offering a user-friendly platform for booking flights, hotels, cruises, and car rentals required a well-structured solution.
• Limited interoperability between payment methods: Existing systems did not fully support the use of on-chain tokens alongside fiat and native tokens, making it difficult for users to utilize their rewards flexibly.

Scalability concerns:  As Voy Travel’s customer base grows, the platform needed to handle up to 10,000 users without compromising speed, security, or performance.

Project Objectives

To overcome these challenges, Voy Travel sought to build a comprehensive booking platform where users can buy, trade, and use on-chain tokens, alongside fiat and native tokens, to book travel services. The system needed to be scalable and efficient, ensuring a smooth experience for all users as the platform expanded.

To ensure that Voy Travel's platform was secure, scalable, and efficient, SotaTek adhered to the five pillars of the DevOps Best practices, include:

These practices were essential in building a reliable, secure, and cost-effective solution that could grow with Voy Travel’s increasing user base while maintaining high performance.

Leveraging deep expertise in emerging technologies and extensive experience across industries, SotaTek provided a tailored solution to help Voy Travel build a seamless, scalable, and Web3-powered travel platform.

Key components of the solution included:

• Development of a robust token management system - SotaTek built a custom on-chain token system with essential functionalities such as vesting, staking, and secure transfers, allowing users to earn, hold, and utilize their loyalty rewards efficiently within the ecosystem.
• Seamless integration of third-party services – To ensure a frictionless user experience, the platform was integrated with Clerk and Web3Auth for secure authentication, Coinbase Ecommerce and Stripe for multi-currency payment processing, and Award Wallet, Wallet Connect, MetaMask, and Coin Circle to support diverse digital asset management.
• Scalability and security enhancements – The system was architected to handle up to 10,000 concurrent users, ensuring high performance while maintaining strict security standards for transactions and user data.

SotaTek implemented a modern and scalable tech stack to ensure high performance, security, and a seamless user experience. The backend was built with Node.js, ensuring scalability and efficient Web3 transaction handling. On the frontend, Next.js and React Native provided a fast and responsive interface across web and mobile platforms. The system also integrated Clerk and Web3Auth for secure authentication, Wallet Connect, MetaMask, and Coin Circle for seamless crypto wallet interactions, and Coinbase E-commerce, Stripe, and Award Wallet to support both fiat and digital asset transactions.

The implemented system successfully met Voy Travel’s requirements in performance, security, and functionality. It is now capable of handling 5,000 concurrent users, ensuring smooth and efficient operations even during peak usage. Since deployment, the platform has onboarded 500 users, demonstrating its stability and readiness for further expansion. With a robust architecture and seamless integration of Web3 features, Voy Travel can now offer an enhanced booking and loyalty experience to its growing customer base.
